Prof. Gail S. Goodman holds the Honorary Chair in Psychology at the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely credited with initiating the contemporary research into the study of witness memory as well as child victim witnesses within legal circumstances. Professor Goodman, who has many research publications as well as numerous grants to her name she is also the winner of numerous national and global prizes. She has been a consultant to numerous government agencies and governments across the world regarding policies and research concerning child victims in the legal system. She has been a consultant with the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center, formerly The Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of numerous professional groups, such as the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is a member of Psychonomics Society, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a Founding Member and International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as the President of the America Psychological Association's divisions, Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Family and Child Policies and Practice.
